Kericho: Man Allegedly Kills His 22-Year-Old Wife Using Motorcycle Brake Clutch Wire

A sombre mood has swept across Londiani in Kipkelion East constituency following the tragic killing of a 22-year-old lady. Malel reportedly called the police to report his crime after six hours.  According to a police report, Shadrack Malel Sigei allegedly killed his wife, Sharon Chepkirui, in their rental house.  In the Friday, August 23 night incident, the 30-year-old man allegedly used a motorcycle brake clutch to strangle his Chepkirui. The clutch had sticks tied to both ends, with the police report revealing the victim's neck, exhibited strangling marks. Preliminary investigations of the rental home revealed evidence of a violent altercation before the deceased's death. The victim was found with clear strangulation marks around her neck, and the crime scene showed signs of a violent struggle. What did Malel do after allegedly killing his wife Additionally, the police said they discovered what seems to be poison that might have been administered to the couple's one-year-and-seven-month-old daughter. After being taken to Londiani Sub-County hospital, the infant received treatment and was later released in stable condition. Prior to the scheduled postmortem, the deceased's body was transferred to the Londiani Sub County Hospital morgue. Malel is reported to have later attempted to harm himself by taking poison a distance from their home. He allegedly called a police officer six hours after committing the alleged crime, informing him that he had ingested a pesticide.
