President William Ruto has reappointed two sacked Cabinet secretaries to his administration. President William Ruto announced the reappointment of Moses Kuria and Eliud Owallo weeks after he dismissed them from his Cabinet. The head of state said the appointments would contribute to implementing his Bottom-Up Economic Agenda (BETA).Who has Ruto reappointed? In a statement by the head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, Ruto appointed former ICT CS Eliud Owalo as the deputy chief of staff, Performance and Delivery Management. To support the Executive Office of the President in delivering its mandate, His Excellency the President has, with the approval of the Public Service Commission (PSC), appointed Eliud Owalo, EGH as the Deputy Chief of Staff, Performance & Delivery Management," Koskei said. Koskei explained that the position was a ministerial-level appointment. Owalo will, among other roles, be responsible for the effective and efficient implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of priority projects and initiatives. Former Public Service CS Moses Kuria has also made a comeback in Ruto's administration after being appointed as a senior advisor on the economy. "To bolster the implementation of the BETA Plan by the broad-based government, the head of state and government has caused the appointment of Hon. Moses Kiarie Kuria, HSC, as a Senior Advisor in his Council of Economic Advisors," continued Koskei. Dennis Itumbi has been appointed as the head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Executive Office of the President. How did Kenyans react to Ruto's appointments? The president's latest appointments have been received with mixed reactions as a section of Kenyans question why Kuria and Owalo were sacked only to be reappointed. @thomaschauke: "The more things change, the more they remain the same." @tara0436: "Many congratulations to Moses Kuria for his appointment as Senior Advisor in his Economic Advisory Council." @Kingoriiwambui: "The minister of trade when Kenyans lost Billions in the Cooking Oil scandal was Moses Kuria, @WilliamsRuto dearly needs him as a senior economic advisor!" @LatexView10: "What was the essence of sacking these individuals in the first place when all he does is recycling?" @overcomethebad: "Well, Eliud was trying. Moses too but need to tone down on politicking and let people see him on performance not politicking 60%."
