Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has continued poking fun at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Suna East MP Junet Mohamed said he had confirmed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's traps were not in State House, Nairobi. In his latest barb, the witty lawmaker humorously reminded the DP of alleged traps he had previously set around the State House to prevent a possible alliance between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga. During Energy CS Opiyo Wandayi's homecoming on Friday, August 30, the MP expressed his joy that the DP was supporting Raila's bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson seat. Junet claimed that Raila's journey wouldn't be perilous as the DP did not set up traps to ensnare the former prime minister. He drew laughter from the crowd as he explained in detail that he was at the state house and confirmed that there were no traps. "This AU matter involving Baba is very important to us. I’ve seen you’ve put strong strategies in place. The East African presidents were with you recently; you spoke, they spoke, and even the Deputy President said Raila must get that position. This time he's not set up traps. There were no traps; I was there. I was at State House myself and didn’t see any traps. Only God knows why, but no traps were set this time," Junet said. Will ODM own up to govt's mistakes The MP further went down memory lane, recounting events of the 2022 General Election that they were on opposite sides. The MP noted the blame the opposition outfit shouldered for shortcomings in former president Uhuru Kenyatta's government. However, Junet explained that they would gladly take the blame in the current agreement since ODM leaders had been given key Cabinet slots. "All the wrongs committed by the government were blamed on us; they said we were in a handshake government while we were left outside the fence. We had nothing; none of our ministers were inside. But now there are ODM members in the government. If there are shortcomings now, we will accept them," he stated.
