Hussein Mohamed forced to apologize after his misleading tweet went viral

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed has been forced to apologize after sending out a misleading tweet via his official X (Twitter) handle.

On Wednesday, Mohamed put up a tweet alleging that Samson Nyamweya earns Sh150,000   for working as an online writer with Jitume programme.

“Samson Nyamweya earns Ksh 150,000 per month through online writing after enrolling with the Jitume programme, an initiative that provides the youth with access to digital services, digital skills, and online job opportunities. He shares his experience with President @Williamsruto,” the tweet read.

However, Hussein’s tweet was quickly flagged by Kenyans on X (KOX) as misleading.

This is because Samson Nyamweya has confessed in the audio Hussein he used that he makes at least Sh20, 000 per month and not Sh150,000 as reporded by the State House spokesperson.

This forced Hussein to apologize with an explanation that he meant $150 and not Sh150, 000.

“Woi! My apologies, folks, I meant $150 per month. Chill out and don't make a mountain out of a molehill. But at least we all agree that President @WilliamsRuto ’s interventions are creating incomes for Nyamweya and many more! Have a chill evening!” Hussein Mohamed explained in his apology.
