A heartbreaking video of Derrick Githeki, a man who drowned while in Diani, has emerged. Derrick Githeki and his lover during their vacation at the coast, which ended in a tragedy.  Did man drown in Diani? Derrick went viral after his demise as Kenyans shared their outpouring messages to the family. The man was vacationing at the coast with his lover Beth Linet when the waves overwhelmed him and carried him away. The video of Derrick drowning as his lover helplessly watched has gone viral on social media. His lover, who was at the beach with him in a viral video, could be seen wailing uncontrollably, and a friend held onto her. Beth had asked for help to retrieve her lover's body in the clip's comment section. She wrote: "That lady is me my husband drowned we are still here at the shores looking for him. Any information leading to finding him or help will be highly appreciated." She later confirmed that his body was retrieved. In a viral clip, she could be seen wailing while looking at the ocean, trying to jump in, and her friends held her back. The lady painfully stated that she was going home alone when she travelled for the vacation with the love of her life.
