Photos doing rounds online have shown Kenyan high school students facing off in a fashion show. A group of high scool students walked down the runway for cultural week. How do high schools celebrate cultural week? The student brought their A-game to the contest at the girls’ school. According to Facebook user Bryan Tsaul, the images were captured at Mulango Girls during their 2024 cultural day. A student wears a classy white dress with black heels in one photo. Another dresses up like a badminton player, complete with a racket, and another is wearing a flowered dress. One of the most outranking outfits was of a student in a traditional Maasai attire, while another dressed as a doctor. There was also an eating competition, with students battling to see who could gobble down bread and soda the fastest. “Mulango Girls High School was started in 1955 by the African Inland Mission (AIM) in the Wikililye sub-location in Kitui County, first as a primary school. Kitui county is happy,” wrote Bryan. Kenyans were impressed by the students’ style and reacted by writing: Mwethya Faith: “As a leader, I am impressed.” Hon Victor Teddy Kidambi: “I am impressed.” Rose Karozy Mbula: “My school.” Kevin Kyambia: “As a teacher, I am happy.”
