Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour

Lang’ata MP Phelix Odiwour, popularly known as Jalang’o, has expressed his sorrow over attending numerous funerals at home in recent times.

In a Saturday post, the former radio presenter revealed that in the past month, he has been traveling home every weekend to attend funerals.

Jalang’o spoke about how exhausted he was from constantly mourning and prayed to God to bring back the days of celebrations.

“The past month has been heavy; every weekend, I’ve traveled home for funerals. God, please stop this; bring me back to celebrations. I can’t mourn anymore,” Jalang’o wrote on his Instagram account.

The MP made these remarks while attending the funeral of the late Marrie Black Achieng’, the daughter of actress Nyaboke Moraa and Dr. Blak Aende.

The politician also offered his condolences to the family, wishing them peace and praying for Marrie’s soul to rest in peace.

“No parent should bury their children. Rest well, Marrie. Dr. Black Aende and Nyaboke Moraa, may God grant you peace,” Jalang’o wrote.

He accompanied his message with a circular ornament featuring a photo of the late Marrie.

The body of Nyaboke Moraa’s daughter left Nairobi for Kisumu on Friday, August 9, before the burial took place today, Saturday, August 10, in Kadongo, Kisumu County.

A memorial service for the late Marrie was held at CITAM Church, Embakasi, on Wednesday, where Moraa recalled how she gave birth to her first child at a very young age.

She mentioned that she was still very young when Marie was born and noted that they created many memories together before her untimely death on July 28.

“I don’t know how to mourn my child; my heart is broken. My heart is so shattered. We had such good memories,” Moraa told fellow mourners.

She added, “My heart is broken. I don’t know how to let go of my child. There was a time in my life when I was going through a lot, and she found me broken in my room, telling me, ‘Mum, you are not a bad person, it’s just the people around you who are bad.'”

Marrie Achieng, who was Nyaboke Moraa’s firstborn, passed away under unknown circumstances on Sunday, July 28.
