The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection is seeking thousands of enumerators and supervisors for a data collection drive in 12 counties. An enumerator collecting data in a Kenyan household. In an advertisement spotted by TUKO.co.ke, the State Department of Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs seeks to recruit for the foregoing openings on a casual basis. 1. Enumerators The successful candidate will work for 21 days. A total of 658 enumerators will be recruited in Uasin Gishu, Bomet (521), Nyeri (312), Nakuru (1,002), Siaya (495), Kiambu (833), Nandi (432), Nairobi (1,495), Embu (276), Busia (730), Trans Nzoia (425) and Kericho (380). What are the qualifications for enumerators? At least a mean grade of C- (minus) in the Kenya Secondary of Secondary Education (KCSE) or its equivalent in form four level of education. Computer proficiency. A candidate must be a resident of the location and be conversant with the local language; an exception will, however, be given to urban centres, which are considered metropolitan. Remuneration Successful candidates will be entitled to daily pay of KSh 1,000 based on daily targets outlined in the appointment letter. The amount will be paid at the end of 21 days of work. They will also be issued a daily transport allowance of KSh 500 and airtime. Candidates have been invited to submit their applications here; the deadline has been set for August 26, 2024. 2. Enumerator supervisors A total of 66 supervisors will be recruited in Uasin Gishu, Bomet (53), Nyeri (32), Nakuru (101), Siaya (50), Kiambu (84), Nandi (44), Nairobi (150), Embu (28), Busia (73), Trans Nzoia (43) and Kericho (38). What are the qualifications of enumerator supervisors? At least a mean grade of KCSE C (plain) or its equivalent in form four level of education. Computer proficiency. A candidate must be a resident of the location and conversant with the local language; however, urban centres, which are considered metropolitan, are exempt. Candidates who are Community Health Volunteers and have held leadership positions will have an added advantage. Remuneration Successful candidates will be entitled to daily pay of KSh 1,300 based on daily targets outlined in the appointment letter. The amount will be paid at the end of 21 days of work. They will also be issued a daily transport allowance of KSh 1,000 and airtime. Candidates have been invited to submit their applications here; the deadline has been set for August 26, 2024.
