Media personality, Azeezah Hashim |
Another week and another celeb lampooning the quality of Kenyan men as romantic partners. Charismatic media personality, Azeezah Hashim has expressed frustration with Kenyan men, claiming they no longer want to pursue women.
In an interview with Wasafi Radio, Azeezah mentioned that she desires a man who will pursue her and take care of her needs, something she feels is lacking among Kenyan men. She stated:
“Kenyan men now want people to beg them. We say they are in their soft boy era. A man now wants you to be the one chasing him, calling him in the morning, and looking for him—basically being the one running after him. But that is something I cannot do because I want to be the one being chased and asked out. They feel like sugar and like being begged.”
The Tanzanian radio host responded by saying that men in their country seek women who give them money and treat them nicely.
Azeezah laughed and questioned why Tanzanian women would do that, saying, “Now that is what I want to be given; that’s too much work. My God.”
Azeezah’s comments sparked a mixed reaction on social media, with many Kenyan men disagreeing with her, while some women agreed with her views.
The interesting thing is that there are a few other female celebs who have also expressed their reservations with the way Kenyan men treat their women.
Back in August 2023, socialite Shakilla insisted that she liked dating Nigerian men because they were romantic and never afraid to spend money on their partners.
“There were a lot of things. If I were to say why I didn’t like Kenyan men, I don’t think I would have finished tonight. There were a lot of things. First, they were stingy. Kenyan men looked alike; they didn’t look that good, you understand?”
Adding,
“I really stressed the word stingy. Like a Kenyan man could never give you money; they would rather pay for you,” she said during an interview with Mpasho.
