Cabinet nominee Stella Soi Lang’at

Gender, Culture and Heritage Cabinet nominee Stella Soi Lang’at has revealed that her net worth is about Sh70 million.

Lang’at revealed that her net worth comprised of assets, homes, pieces of land, a few cows, some avocado orchards and a few shares and securities.

She was the fifth and last CS nominee to be vetted.

The Gender CS nominee appeared before the Committee on Appointments.

Langa’t said she has built a career in public administration by working in several ministries.

She said she has served in public service for 29 years, in the central government.

Lang’at served in various ministries including the State Department of Public Service, and the Labour Department and was part of the team setting up the State Department of Gender in 2004.


She has had various capacity-building training in mediation, conflict management and peacebuilding.

Lang’at has served in different regions including Nyanza, Eastern and South Rift Valley regions.

She has also worked in institutional building while working at the Office of the Attorney General, as she was part of the team setting up a witness protection agency, which is one of its kind in Eastern Central Africa.

“I want to believe that gave me an opportunity to interact with issues of Gender-Based Violence and the need to protect witnesses for purposes of ensuring that there is success in prosecution and to strengthen the administrative Justice system,” she said.

If picked she will replace Aisha Jumwa who was in the dissolved Cabinet.
