Source: Twitter Tuya was the Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry until July 2024, when Ruto dissolved his first Cabinet. What’s Soipan Tuya’s net worth? Appearing before the National Assembly vetting committee on Thursday, August 1, Tuya confirmed that she is currently worth KSh 243,448 million. Her wealth grew by KSh 87 million from KSh 156 million, last reported in September 2022 during her first vetting to the Cabinet. “Mr. Speaker, my net worth is 243,448 million. At the last vetting, it was worth KSh156 million,” said Tuya. How Soipan Tuya’s wealth grew in 2 years The former CS explained that her net worth increased during the 20-month period due to the appreciation of her properties. Tuya said she runs a private business and recently acquired a new asset within Nairobi. “My wealth has grown largely through the appreciation of assets, private business, and one asset I acquired within Nairobi,” she explained. In her last engagement, Tuya was entitled to a monthly salary of KSh 924,000 as a Cabinet Secretary. The salary included a basic salary of KSh 554,400, a house allowance of KSh 200,000, and a market adjustment of Ksh 169,600. Soipan Tuya’s career background Prior to her appointment as a CS, she was a Member of Parliament for Narok County between 2013 and 2022. She worked as a Land Law and Gender Specialist at USAID Kenya between 2010 and 2012. Between 2006 and 2008, Tuya worked as a legal advisor in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
