What gospel star Bony Mwaitege has done about false death rumours
Tanzanian gospel star Bony Mwaitege |
This past Monday, Tanzanian gospel star Bony Mwaitege suffered a fate no person should ever in this day and age.
And that unfortunate fate was that he had passed on after suffering an alleged fatal road accident while traveling back from a concert in Kenya.
The news spread like wildfire among unverified blogs online but it later turned out to be false. But that happened after it had spread like wildfire.
Now the musician is speaking out and has revealed what he will do about the malicious rumours.
In a video shared on the Tanzanian blog 5Star NewsTZ, Mwaitege assured his fans that the rumours were baseless and that he was safe and well.
“I want to address the ongoing rumors that have gone viral. People have tried to harm me and spread false information about me, but this one has forced me to speak out. I have ignored other things, but these death allegations have compelled me to respond. My brothers and sisters, as you can see, I am healthy and have not been involved in any accident,” Mwaitege stated.
He further urged his fans to help dispel the misinformation and said that he had spoken to Tanzanian president Samia Suluhu about the issue.
“It is just fake news, and I pray that you can spread the message that I am alive and well. I don’t know who originated this false information. I have seen other gospel musicians face the same. I plan to take action on this matter. The next steps will involve the government. I have informed President Samia Suluhu, and her administration will take action.”
