 Anita Gaitho shares incident where her father was abducted 

Veteran journalist Macharia Gaitho had it rough at the hands of the police, according to his daughter Anita. Anita Gaitho (left) shared the horrific experience her father Francis (right) went through during his abduction by the police.The journalist was unlawfully arrested on the morning of Wednesday, July 17, by police officers who took him to the Karen Police Station before driving him out.Gaitho was in the company of his son who filmed all the happenings; Anita later joined them at the station.Giving her account, the lady said the police roughed her father up at his attempt to question the motive behind his arrest. They were on their way toward Lang'ata Road when the police started assaulting him for what they said was resisting arrest "Once they handcuffed him and put him in the Probox, they drove away from Karen police station, onto Lang’ata road. They were punching and slapping him, saying he was resisting arrest. Still hadn’t identified themselves but said, “Can’t you see we’re armed and had a Subaru" said Anita.
