The details revealed that Mlongo was missing from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists' Council (KMPDC) list. . However, in a quick retort, the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists and Dentists' Union (KMPDU) clarified why her name was not on the list. In a statement on Friday, July 19, KMPDU Secretary-General Davji Atellah stated that she had not been registered but only delayed in updating her accreditation. "Not deregistered she just delayed to update her license," he wrote. How did KMPDU react to Mlongo's nomination The doctors' union also congratulated the medical practitioner on her nomination, stating they are willing to support her to restore dignity in the profession and the quality of healthcare in the country. Atellah stated that Mlongo's background would be integral in enabling her to discharge her duties without issue.
