Kiambu Man Returns Home from Canada, Transforms Homestead to School: "We're 5 Years Old"

When people return home from abroad, they always have different plans depending on how they had prepared themselves and their encounters in their foreign countries.   After a short stint abroad, a man has returned to his home country to bring positive change and influence. Obadiah Njoroge, known as Director Wakaba, returned to his home in Gatundu, Kiambu county, to start a private school. When did Obadiah Njoroge build his school?  The principal used the land that houses his home to start a school and offer education to the children in the area.  "The school started in 2019 after I returned from Toronto, Canada. I have some money and a few cars. While in Toronto, I had a Nigerian friend. One day, we were discussing our future plans and wondered why we shouldn't return to our respective homes and open schools. That is how Harbourfront Academy and Junior High Secondary School was born. I borrowed the name Harbourfront from Canada," he happily said. Njoroge, an accountant by profession, said he was making chapati in Canada, where he stayed for two years. How many staff members does Njoroge have? He started the school with a few kids before they took a hit in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.  However, they soldiered on through the global pandemic and remained strong years later. "We plan on expanding the school by building a few permanent classes. The hall and the laboratory are already under construction. We trust God daily and hope for the best in the future," he happily said. He noted he had at least 22 staff members and over 300 children, as he hoped for more children in the coming days.
