Kenyans Infuriated as William Ruto Asks Whether Rongai Boy Shot 8 Times is Alive: "What?"

Kenyans have taken to their social media platforms to register their anger after President William Ruto said that a young boy who was shot eight times during demos was alive.  How did Kennedy Onyango die? On June 27, there was a dramatic police crossfire in Rongai town, and sadly, Kennedy Onyango died alongside two other adults.  The state law enforcers were containing the anti-finance bill protesters at whom they fired live rounds and tear gas.At a special round table with journalists, Linus Kaikai asked Ruto what he would tell the mother of the 12-year-old boy who died in Rongai. "He is still alive right?" posed Ruto. He was told that the boy had actually died. "On the 12-year-old shot with eight bullets, I am telling the mother of this young person that as president, I will make sure that I give her an explanation of what really happened. I will make sure that we bring this to a situation where, like myself who has children, her child can be accounted for." Kenyans react to Rutos' sentiments @_MwalimuEric: "What is he saying?" Assignment helper: "Na Ruto akiulizwa Najib hajui...as a mother, it has really pained me. I am crying ." Rongai mum seeks justice Josinter Anyango, the mother of Onyango, was engulfed in grief during her narration of how she learnt about the death of his death. She said he had been at her home in the Kware area of Rongai since morning, helping to fetch water for laundry. According to Anyango, he left while they were cooking to get a book from his classmate, but he did not come back.
