Social media influencer Francis Gaitho has announced his intention to appear at DCI Headquarters, Mazingira House.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Gaitho confirmed he will arrive at 2pm.

"I will be presenting myself at DCI Headquarters, Mazingira House on Kiambu Road at 2pm today. Thank you all for your concern," he stated.

Responding to a statement from the National Police Service, he mentioned he is consulting with his legal counsel regarding further actions.

This follows the recent acknowledgment by the police of mistakenly arresting veteran journalist Macharia Gaitho, who shares a name with the aforementioned influencer.

"The National Police Service wishes to clarify that this morning, we arrested journalist Macharia Gaitho in a case of mistaken identity, intending to apprehend Francis Gaitho, who is the subject of our investigation," stated the police.

On Monday, Director of Criminal Investigations Amin Mohamed criticized Francis Gaitho for undermining their inquiry into the Kware dump site murders.

The influencer had alleged that the DCI released a misleading statement and incorrectly identified the primary suspect.

Subsequently, he disclosed names, photos, and details of a person named Jairus Onkundi, claiming he was the suspect.

Later, Onkundi lodged a complaint with the DCI seeking clearance regarding the ongoing investigations.
