DCI Releases Photos of Protesters Who Illegally Stormed Parliament, Wanted for Crimes

#occupyparliament protests on Tuesday, June 25
Enraged youths breached Parliament during the #occupyparliament protests on Tuesday, June 25, demanding MPs withdraw the controversial Finance Bill 2024. Anti-finance bill protesters rush to get into the parliament as anti-riot police watch.  Some recorded themselves inside Parliament addressing invisible lawmakers, while others vandalised the building. Subsequently, they proceeded to the Judiciary's offices and caused massive destruction. Concurrently, Nairobi governor Johnson Sakaja's offices at City Hall were set on fire. Why are police going after anti-bill protesters? The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has initiated a thorough investigation into the extensive damage the rowdy youths caused to government infrastructure. Authorities have identified several protesters from viral videos and urged them to present themselves to local police stations for questioning regarding their unlawful activities during the nationwide demonstrations against the finance bill. "The individuals whose images appear below are wanted by the police for their unlawful activities during the anti-finance bill demonstrations. We therefore advise them to report to the nearest police station for further police action," read the notice.
