Aisha Jumwa Encounters Hostile Crowd after Saying She Will Be Happy if Reappointed to Ruto's Cabinet

Former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa

Former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has encountered resistance in Kilifi County regarding the likelihood of her being reappointed to the Cabinet. On Saturday, July 20, Aisha was booed by Kilifi residents after she appeared to be rallying President William Ruto to reappoint her. In her address, Aisha said the president was aware of her capabilities and that she would be happy if he reappointed her to the Cabinet. The former CS pointed out that she was at peace with Ruto’s decision to relieve her of her duties and added that she was open to making a comeback if called upon. “William Ruto does not need anyone to root for Aisha Jumwa and if it so pleases him to say that I will be among the cabinet secretaries and continue, we the people of Kilifi shall say Amen, and if he says I should should rest, we shall also say Amen because the Bible requires us to be thankful in every situation,” Jumwa noted. However, rowdy youths started booing her and chanting that the president should reject Aisha's request. In the video seen by TUKO.co.ke, local leaders were seen frantically begging the rowdy crowd to stop the chants and boos. The hostile crowd did not heed the request and continued chanting making it impossible for the former Gender CS to make her speech.
