Kericho: Sorrow as 2 Kids Allegedly Killed by Mum Are Buried in Her Absence

Agony engulfed Sibaik village in Kericho county as loved ones of Sheila Chepkemoi and Salim Kipkemoi laid them to rest side by side. Brenda Cheptoo with the late Salim Kipekemoi and Sheila Chepkemoi.  Sheila and Salim were to sit for exams. The two kids, aged eight and six, were allegedly killed by their mum, identified as Brenda Cheptoo, and the bodies were found at home. According to a resident of the area, Daktari Kelvin Kipchirchir Ufa, mourners at the heartbreaking burial were told that she came to pick up her children to stay with her in rentals.  “After four days, Cheptoo’s mother asked why she had returned the kids and yet exams were on at Kipkerieny Primary School. She said that they were doing well and she would bring them later. They were later found by her brother, who was slashing around the home found the bodies in a banana pit,” said Kelvin. The lady, who had been away all that time, was found in the Belgut constituency with a lover at their home. When the man saw her face circulating on social media, he went to report to the chief for her to be apprehended. “It was reported that the lady was heard saying she would deal with her mum upon release,” he said. Slain Cheptoo and Kiptoo’s mum wanted marriage The mum of two kids who were found dead in Kericho county was arrested by DCI detectives in the company of her lover. Brenda Cheptoo had left Gerald and Shaline with their grandmother but later on came for them, only for the two to be found dead. Cheptoo and her lover are now in custody where it emerged that she allegedly killed the two kids in the hopes that the man would marry her.
