ODM Party chairman John Mbadi has accused former president Uhuru Kenyatta of attempting to mislead Raila Odinga. John Mbadi supported the calls for dialogue with President William Ruto.  Recently, Uhuru has been making headlines over claims that he was persuading Raila to abandon his deal with President William Ruto. Why John Mbadi is unhappy with Uhuru Kenyatta Speaking in Suba South on Saturday, July 20, Mbadi questioned Uhuru’s intentions for opposing the dialogue between Raila and Ruto. While challenging the sincerity and timing of Uhuru’s new political plan, Mbadi warned the former prime minister against trusting the former president. “I am not persuaded that Uhuru means well for us now. If he wanted to give us leadership, he would have given us leadership in 2022. Some of us today would be Cabinet ministers; I would not be a nominated member of Parliament,” Mbadi said. Mbadi dismissed the notion that Uhuru could make the ODM leader president in the 2027 General Election if he abandoned the deal with Ruto. According to Mbadi, Uhuru had a clear chance in 2022 to make Raila president, but he failed, so he cannot accomplish the same when he is out of power. “You are telling us that now is when Uhuru has the key to take us to the State House, and when he was there he handed the key to someone else. Now you are telling us that Uhuru can give us the key to the State House,” he stated. His sentiments came after allegations that Uhuru and Raila held a meeting in Dubai to discuss a pact to take power in 2027.
