He apologised over the incident in a long statement on social media, adding that he was retracting the statement. “To Bonny Mwaitege’s family and friends, my mum loves your songs and sorry for posting such misleading information,” he wrote. Stephen Kasolo clarifies about Mwaitege’s health Kenyan gospel singer Stephen Kasolo also dismissed the rumours and clarified that Mwaitege was alive and healthy. In a video posted on social media, Kasolo dissuaded Kenyans from spreading false news, which caused undue distress to the victims. “Ameniomba niwaambia wakenya kwamba Bonny Mwaitege yupo sawa na ni mtu tu anatumika kumharibia jina, (He has asked me to inform Kenyans that Bonny MWaitege is okay but someone is trying to soil his name),” he said. Kasolo added that God had protected the gospel minister and urged Kenyans to pray for him and other Tanzanian singers.
