Pastor Eliab Ombuoro,

SDA church has recalled the suspension of four religious leaders they had banned from ministering in their pulpits.

In a letter dated July 10, 2024, signed by Pastor Eliab Ombuoro, the KCF Executive Secretary, the church officially withdrew the earlier suspension directive and instructed all recipients to disregard it.

The withdrawal followed a massive uproar online over the suspensions.

“In reference to our letter dated 4th July 2024 on the above subject matter quoted (ACTION 24EXCOM-055), we wish to state that the letter is hereby withdrawn until advised otherwise. For those who might have read the letter, we request that you disregard it,”  reads the letter.

The five who had been suspended include sensational Pastor Elizabeth Mokoro, Kenneth Maina, Evangelist Shaban Ndege, Evangelist Millicent Odhiambo and Evangelist Lantena.

In a notice on the ban issued on July 4, by SDA Kenya Coast field, members of the church were required not to grant the five a chance to minister in their branches.

“Kindly note this is an adoption of the East Kenya  Union Conference action for the above-mentioned not to serve as stated,” notice signed by Pastor Eliab Ombuoro, the executive secretary, stated.

“It is our hope that the above communication will be adhered to.”

Ombuoro said the five were not authorized to conduct any kind of church services within or outside KCE territory.

Ombuoro noted that the action aligns with a decision by the East Kenya Union Conference (EKUC) action number 24EXCOM-055.

He however did not state the reason for the suspension of the five.

However, the Star on Thursday learnt that the letter has since been withdrawn.

Attempts to reach out to Ombuoro for clarification were futile as he did not pick up our calls.
