William Ruto Moves to Calm Storm in Kenya Kwanza, Calls Crisis Meeting at State House

President William Ruto
President William Ruto has moved to restore order in his Kenya Kwanza Alliance as the rift with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua escalates. President William Ruto has convened the national executive council before the alliance's Parliamentary Group meeting. The head of state has called for a crisis meeting as he seeks to restore sanity in the ruling alliance. Ruto, who'll arrive from Egypt after touring South Korea in the last week for the South Korea-Africa summit, has convened a national executive committee meeting at State House.  In recent weeks, cracks have been evident within the ruling alliance, with leaders opting to wash their dirty linen in public. This has been exacerbated by the wedge that has continued to drive Ruto and his primary assistant Gachagua. Their differences have so far sowed seeds of mistrust within the administration, with accusations and counter-accusations of betrayal dominating the political scene.
