According to the MP, Wabomba was last seen at 11am on Tuesday, June 25 in Nairobi CBD while taking part in the #RejectFinanceBill2024 demonstrations. On Wednesday, June 26, the Bumula MP stated that despite thorough searches at multiple hospitals and police stations in Nairobi, all efforts have been unsuccessful. "I wish to notify the public that my personal Assistant, Wangila Wabomba, was abducted yesterday and is incommunicado. It's very disheartening and sad. We have searched in all hospitals and police stations, but he is nowhere to be found, and all indications point to the police," Wamboka said. Has Wangila Wabomba been abducted? He pointed an accusing finger at the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, saying the police were targeting lawmakers opposed to the Finance Bill 2024. "I recorded a statement at Parliament police station, notified the National Assembly and Speaker Moses Masika Wetang'ula, E.G.H,MP and circulated his details to all security agencies but we are yet to find him. The Inspector General of Police is personally liable of his whereabouts and MUST produce him without fail," the MP said.
