Stop Telling People that William Ruto Is a One-Term President, Kimani Ichung'wah Tells Gachagua

Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah
Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah has renewed his onslaught against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah claimed Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua was sabotaging the government.  During Gichuru Memorial High School's thanksgiving on Friday, June 14, the Kikuyu MP sensationally accused the second in command of working to undermine President William Ruto's government. The lawmaker claimed the DP had been trying to marshal his Mt Kenya political base to support him in sabotaging Ruto.  Ichung'wah stated that Gachagua had set his sights on taking over from Ruto in the 2027 General Election once he failed to deliver. "Stop telling people at night, that William Ruto is a one-term president and you will marshall your community to undermine, to sabotage, the government of President William Ruto so that he fails that you become president," he stated. What is Ichung'wah'a advice to Gachagua The MP observed that the DP should concentrate on his role of deputising Ruto and delivering their promises to Kenyans. He warned that Gachagua's ambition would be his downfall if he sought to subvert Ruto's administration. "If you want to become president of Kenya work in the position, you have been given today to deliver to the people of Kenya and when your time comes, they will see leadership in you. But if you seek to sabotage, the government of Kenya for your own selfish ends, my brother, you will go absolutely nowhere," he said. Gachagua opposed in UDA Ichung'wah is part of the faction within the governing UDA party that has been castigating the deputy president over his recent political stances. Gachagua has been calling for Mt Kenya's unity and a relook into the country's revenue allocation formula to benefit his fellow natives owing to their vast population. His calls have, however, been met with objections, those against him, including the president, terming his approaches as tribalist and which would advance the outdated politics of ethnicity. Meanwhile, Gachagua's trip to Mombasa onboard the commercial flight came in light of his lamentations over the alleged prohibition of using the military choppers he previously flew.
