Ian Kariuki, a one-year-and-seven-month-old baby who had been kidnapped by a nanny, has been found safe.The locals found Baby Ian in the Tetu forest, where he's been living with his nanny, Jane Nyambura. The baby from Kiamwathi, Nyeri, was reported missing on Friday, May 31, when his mother came home to find their nanny Jane Nyambura had left with him. Baby Ian was reunited with his immediate family on Friday, June 7, after days of searching and following up on clues. Cheers of joy and ululation filled the air as the boy was received by his mother, Joyce Wanjeri, and father, Michael Kariuki, at Equity Afia Hospital in Nyeri town. "Glory to God! Thank you, Jesus!" shouted family members as Ian's parents picked him up from a police vehicle. He was brought to the medical facility in a police vehicle after he was found. The baby was reportedly living with the 46-year-old nanny in the forest since she disappeared from home with him. "We want his health to be checked because he has been in the forest for seven days," said a police officer at the medical facility.
