Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Ichung'wah
The division in the Kenya Kwanza Alliance continues to deepen as leaders oppose Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua's push for Mt. Kenya unity. MP Kimani Ichung'wah said he would not be silenced by hired bloggers. Ichung'wah makes serious claims about Gachagua Speaking on Sunday, June 9, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah accused the deputy president of attempting to intimidate his critics in the Mt.Kenya region. Ichung'wah claimed Gachagua has been hiring bloggers and some vernacular radio stations to bully those opposed to his unity push. The Kikuyu MP vowed to continue fighting people, inciting the community against elected leaders for selfish reasons. Ichung'wah claimed the deputy president's push for unity was not targeting the region's issues, such as coffee and milk prices. "You can mobilise your stooges, bloggers, and all vernacular stations and deploy all your arsenal, but we shall not be cowed or intimidated. We are not threatened, we have been emancipated, and we only stand by the truth. I will tell you the truth as it is in broad daylight. We should stop inciting residents for selfish interests," Ichung'wah said. How Gachagua dared his critics in Mt Kenya Claims by Ichung'wah come days after the deputy president challenged critics of Mt Kenya unity to confront him directly in the region, not from afar  Gachagua emphasised that most detractors were opposing unity while speaking outside of Mt Kenya, urging them to face local scrutiny The DP asserted his alignment with grassroots sentiments, attributing his political success to listening and adhering to the people's demands Gachagua clarified that Mt Kenya's unity aims to secure a fair share of national resources and maintain relevance in national politics, not target any group or region.
