Kenya take on Burundi in crucial World Cup Qualifier

 

A match between Kenya and Burundi 
Kenya plays Burundi in one of the nine World Cup qualifiers scheduled Friday across the continent. The match will be played at Bingu National Stadium,Lilongwe,Malawi.

The encounter will be beamed live on KBC Channel 1 from 4pm East African Time.

Kenya is searching its second win of the campaign in three group H matches. Kenya lost to Gabon before bouncing back against the groups whipping boys  Seychelles.

The group also consists reigning Africa champions Ivory Coast and Gambia. Ivory Coast and Gabon have maximum points and lie first and second respectively.

Kenya sits third while Burundi and Gambia are in fourth and fifth places respectively.Winless Seychelles are bottom in sixth.

Head coach Engin Firat has named his starting line up ahead of the match.U20 Forward Timothy Ouma partners captain Michael Olunga and Cliffton Miheso upfront.

Daniel Anyembe and Johnstone Omurwa start in defense while Rooney Onyango and Abud Omar man the right and left positions at the back respectively. Antony Akumu,Richard Odada suit in midfield while Kenneth Muguna is trusted with the no.10 role.

‘’We are facing an opponent that has very strong transition they play very first,they have very first players.They will use space if we press them and they will try to play long balls behind our defence,we have prepared for it’’, remarked Firat.

‘’Its not an easy team.it has good players.but we are hopeful that every player will rise up to the occasion and help the team get the win’’ Said Olunga.
