Ian Njoroge Offers Apology to Police Officer He Assaulted: "I'm Really Sorry"

 

Ian Njoroge  apologised to the police officer and the state.
The young man who assaulted a traffic police officer in a viral clip has apologised to him and the state.  Ian Njoroge said he was sorry for his actions that were captured on video. During a meeting with former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko, Ian Njoroge expressed his regrets for the actions that shocked the nation. Looking frail with a sling in his arm, Njoroge stated that he was sorry for his actions, vowing never to repeat them."I would like to take this chance to offer my apologies to the state and also Mr Jacob Ogendo. I am really sorry and it will never happen again. I am just saying I am really sorry," he stated. Sonko offers his car as surety to secure Ian's release Earlier, Sonko offered to provide a vehicle as surety for Ian Njoroge's KSh 700,000 bond after the student's arrest over assaulting a police officer. Sonko emphasised his willingness to assist, ensuring Njoroge's compliance with court requirements as long as he doesn't flee.  Ian's family assured Sonko of their commitment to ensuring the young man does not flee once released on bond.
