Former The Trend crew honour Njambi 'Jahmby' Koikai during lovely reunion show
The trend to honour the late Jahmby Koikai |
It's been 7 years since Larry Madowo, Anita Nderu, Jeff Mote, Ciku Muiruri, Cindy Ogana, Eddie Butita and Jahmby Koikai sat together on NTV's The Trend.
On Friday, June 7, six walked into the studio to honour the life of one of them who died; the late Mafry Jahmby Koikai.
Larry and the crew informed Kenyans they would mark the hour-long show with jokes.
"As you can see the gang is back for one night only to celebrate the life of a dear friend. We didn't want this to be a sad show because Jahmby was a joyful human being and we think the best way to celebrate her is to bring back joy to this hour."
They cracked jokes about being pioneers of the show, "We stopped everything so we could honour and celebrate the life of Jahyby. She was the light of our lives, and brought so much joy and shade to TTTT. No one could shade like Jahmby," sharing clips from older shows.
Cindy revealed she joined the show because of Jahmby. She was recruited to fill in for Jahmby who was going abroad for treatment.
"So it's bittersweet I got in coz Jahmby was sick."
Each of the six confessed what they loved about the late, from the cute nickname 'Turbulence', her many degrees, her joking nature, and acting gigs at Heartstring.
Ciku cried saying, "The one thing I will really miss is she was such a cheerleader."
