Source: Youtube Khaimia reviews Cheruiyot's book In a tribute shared at the CITAM Church Valley road, Nakhulo Khaimia shared that the two met when Cheruiyot needed a review done for his book on his mountaineering escapades. "I knew him back in 2019 through the running circles, but never got any attention. In 2020, I posted a book of Kenyan runners by a British guy. I went on social media, posted about it and guys asked if I had read about Cheruiyot? I looked for him and after I reviewed his book Cheruiyot said he hoped we will meet some day," said Khaimia.  "I was the last person seen with Cheruiyot when he travelled out of the country to go and climb Mt. Everest. It is hard to believe that I am writing a tribute to this gentleman called Cheruiyot. I was certain he would be back in the country by now," she added. Cheruiyot's sweet romantic gesture The two went on dinner dates while they were together. While speaking about their relationship, Khaimia sought to disabuse the notion that Kalenjin men aren't romantic. "I know he could not say it or show it. He gave me some nicknames; when I had a profile picture with a purpose lipstick, he texted and said, hi PL, Miss Oasis, Favourite person," she recalled. On their first Valentine's Day, Cheruiyot warned her, saying that he was a Kalenjin man and that she should not expect a lot from him. He said he would give her a plant to nurture, which turned out to be flowers.  Cheruiyot's love for his daughter While speaking of her departed boyfriend, Khaimia said that he really loved his daughter and often talked about her "I had some nicknames for him, like Kirui, Josh, or Joshua, but he didn't like them. His favourite was Baba Chero. The first time we met, he told me I have a mini-me. Every time I called him Baba Chero, you could see his face light up," she revealed. "He was very good at tea brewing skills Iam Luhya and I loved tea, that hooked me to him. I will miss our drives to Kasarani to buy goat meat for his special recipes. Our Sunday runs to Karura, he was my alarm clock whenever I failed to clock in," she added.
