MPs decry harassment from Kenyans ahead of Finance Bill Vote Earlier, on June 13, Kenyan lawmakers expressed concerns about the harsh reactions they received from the public regarding the upcoming vote on the Finance Bill 2024, which is scheduled to be tabled in the National Assembly on Tuesday, June 18. Before Treasury CS Njuguna Ndung'u presented the budget estimates on Thursday, June 13, a significant number of citizens took to the X platform to urge their lawmakers to vote against the Finance Bill.  Renowned influence known as Amerix initiated the campaign, urging his followers to share their MPs' contact numbers and flood them with calls and texts expressing disapproval of the bill. In no time, personal phone numbers of the lawmakers, including President William Ruto's, circulated across the platform, with numerous Kenyans sending messages and sharing screenshots as proof.
