| Anti finance bill protests on going |
Peaceful anti-finance bill protests escalated into chaos following the passage of the controversial Finance Bill 2024 by a majority of Kenya Kwanza MPs, advancing it to the next stage. Several protesters were shot outside the parliament building during Nairobi protests. Furious youths overwhelmed police forces in an attempt to gain access to the National Assembly. In response, the police resorted to firing live bullets to disperse the protesters. Tragically, at least two bodies were observed outside the parliament building amidst heightened efforts by authorities to restore order.
