Protests have erupted in major towns nationwide as Kenyans continue to pressure the government to withdraw the contentious Finance Bill 2024. Former president Uhuru Kenyatta warned about mishandling Gen Z.  In contrast to past protests led by seasoned politicians, young Kenyans, known as Gen Z, are leading the demonstrations.  Why Gen Z overstayed in Nairobi CBD In Nairobi, chaos erupted after the MPs allied to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance approved the bill for the next stage. The protesters engaged in running battles with police as they attempted to force their way into the parliament building. The protesters defied the provisions of the law and staged a nighttime celebration in Nairobi CBD past 9pm as they continued to express their displeasure with the lawmakers. What Uhuru Kenyatta said about Kenyan youths Even as Gen Z vowed to stage more protests next week, a video of former president Uhuru Kenya cautioning elected leaders about Kenyan youths has emerged. In the trending video, Uhuru expressed worry that youths were time bombs and required the utmost care, saying that if they took the law into their own hands, it would be hard to control them.  “Let us not cheat ourselves, and the young generation is a big problem. How do we handle the young generation? This young generation you use and dump is a time bomb that no one will put off if it goes off. Our young people, if not properly handled, can be a time bomb that can blow this country to pieces,” Uhuru said.
