Kenyans have woken up to the sad news that Rex Kanyike Masai, a young man who took part in the heated demonstrations against Finance Bill 2024, was allegedly shot dead by the police. Fallen activist Rex Kanyike with his mum (l), the young man during happier times (r). According to reports, Rex was shot by the police and taken to hospital but has since been confirmed dead. In a Facebook post, activist Boniface Mwangi, Rex’s body was taken to the City Mortuary and his parents Chrispin Odawa, and Gillian Munyao were seen standing over his body at the facility.
