Legendary comedian Daniel Ndambuki aka Churchill has eulogized the late comedian Fred Omondi who passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024.
Churchill used his socials to mourn Omondi with snippets of his previous performances when he appeared on the Churchill Show that used to air on NTV.
In his message, Mwalimu said that Fred Omondi’s funny character will be missed a lot by his fans and close friends.
“@fredomondi_ on stage!We shall miss your charisma and lyrics.Tena sana.😔,” Churchill shared.
Fred Omondi tragically passed away on June 15 following a bodaboda accident, according to police reports.
The motorcycle he was riding was struck by a speeding bus, causing both rider and passenger to fall onto the road.
Police said he suffered multiple injuries on his legs and hands. Omondi was rushed to Mama Lucy Hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries during treatment, as confirmed by authorities and witnesses at the scene.
Fred Omondi, younger brother of renowned comedian and activist Eric Omondi, had carved a niche for himself in the comedy world as a popular events emcee and former member of the esteemed Churchill Show.
In a previous interview, he credited his brother Eric for inspiring him to pursue comedy as a career. Before his untimely death, Fred had plans to spend the weekend in Meru, as he had shared on his Instagram stories.
His sudden demise has left his fans and fellow comedians in deep shock and sorrow.
