Former Harambee Stars captain McDonald Mariga and commentator Francis Gaitho |
Former Harambee Stars captain McDonald Mariga has criticised commentator Francis Gaitho for drawing parallels between him and Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany, who was recently appointed. MacDonald Mariga (l) insults Francis Gaitho (c) for an unfavourable comparison with Vincent Kompany (r). Gaitho posted a snapshot of Mariga in a challenge with Kompany during a game in which Mariga represented Inter Milan and Kompany played for Manchester City. The post seemed to depict Mariga as having achieved less after his football career. “Vincent Kompany of Belgium and McDonald Mariga of Kenya during a past football match between Manchester City and Inter-Milan. Vincent Kompany is now the Bayern Munich manager, and Macdonald Mariga is a UDA member and goon based in Kibra,” Gaitho wrote. Mariga’s fierce response Mariga responded sharply, using strong language to deter Gaitho from using his name in such comparisons. “We malaya uache kuni taja taja kama mimi ni wa kwenu, utakuja kuolewa hii town ukiendelea kutaja wanaume wenzako mbwa ya town.,”Mariga wrote. Netizens react to Mariga’s response @wallacenjuguna “The reply proves Gaitho right.” @Kariuki_Daniel: “Decorum boss..however much you are infuriated, kindly learn to humble yourself and desist from paying evil for evil…if you do this, you will live a happy life, son.” @NguiNzuve: “You don’t sound disciplined. How did @intermilan hire him?” @kevin_kuria: “Umepigwa reality mzae, relax. You had no plans whatsoever post-retirement, which is why you should always trust business analysts.” @Gathirwa4: “Wait, you really talk like a bully. Didn’t expect this from a retired professional player.”
