The death toll in the Gitaru locality of Kabete, where a residential apartment collapsed on the evening of Friday, May 31, has hit four. The three-storey building was reportedly being demolished to pave the way for the construction of an interchange in the area. Kenya Red Cross Society said they had rescued one person from the rubble immediately after the incident. The humanitarian organisation stated that several other people were still held under the rubble as rescue operations continued.
