Rigathi Gachagua Slams Ruto's Men, Tells Them to Focus on Rift Valley: "Wachana na Siasa ya Mlima"

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and President William Ruto
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has finally revealed the cause of the rift in the Kenya Kwanza government. Rigathi Gachagua claimed Rift Valley politicians were undermining him.  Why Rigathi Gachagua is unhappy with William Ruto's allies Speaking in Uasin Gishu county on Saturday, May 25, Gachagua directed his anger at a section of President William Ruto's close associates. Gachagua claimed that a few leaders close to the president have taken advantage of this to undermine him in the Mt. Kenya region. A seemingly angered Gachagua went bare-knuckles, revealing that Ruto's allies are already holding meetings in the Mt. Kenya region to craft 2032 succession politics to his disadvantage. “The problem is a few leaders here from this region who have proximity to the president; they are the ones who have become cheeky. They have partnered with others in the Mt Kenya region and have decided to plan 2027 politics. Why do you want to succeed the president while he is still alive?” Gachagua posed without naming the said politicians. Gachagua tells Rift Valley leaders to keep off Mt Kenya The DP further told the unnamed Rift Valley leaders to keep off Mt. Kenya's political affairs, saying the country should not be subjected to early politics. Gachagua warned leaders from the president's backyard against interfering with Mt. Kenya's politics, insisting that regions should deal with their local issues without external interference. "Don't try to set us up for the politics of Mount Kenya and the leadership of Mount Kenya. Take control of your politics and leadership. The day William Ruto retires after 10 years, we will not interfere with your plans; you will arrange for yourselves. The political situation in our country is very difficult," he added.
