Man Who Got Married Recently Narrates Pain of Watching Wife Die in Floods: "Nimeachia Mungu"

The heavy downpour witnessed in the country has so far led to the loss of 179 lives according to government spokesman Isaac Mwaura's statement on May 1. Recently married man in pain as he recalls watching helplessly as his wife and child drown.  He reported 164 adult fatalities and 15 child deaths, with an additional 20 individuals missing. Moreover, 125 people sustained injuries. In the Mai Mahiu incident alone, 71 people lost their lives, according to a statement issued by Nakuru governor Susan Kihika.  The incident caused much pain to individuals who lost their property and family members.  James Kirobe, a resident of Mai Mahiu, was among them. What happened to James Kirobe? In a video shared by Citizen TV, James Kirobe, a survivor of the Mai Mahiu floods incident, recounts his story. While struggling to contain his emotions, Kirobe details the harrowing experience of witnessing his wife and child drown on the tragic day. He adds that he had not spent much time with his wife as they were just recently married. Kirobe, who appeared to have a bandaged bruise on his face, described the significant void he felt after losing his family. "It's so painful. Each time I remember I just feel like crying. I just leave it to God, because its hurts a lot," he said.  Kirobe, who was in tears, said that was his only family.
