Interviews for Judges of Court of Appeal rescheduled

Interviews for Court of Appeal Judges have been rescheduled.
The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) announced new dates for the 41 candidates shortlisted for the position.
The interviews which have been pushed forward by two weeks will now be conducted between 18th June and 9th July 2024.
They were to be held between June 3 and June 20.
“The Judicial Service Commission wishes to bring to the attention of members of the public changes in the interview dates for candidates shortlisted for the position of judge of the Court of Appeal. The interviews will now be conducted between 18. June and 9. July 2024. A detailed schedule of new dates can be accessed on the JSC website” JSC announced in a statement.
Of the shortlisted, 32 are currently serving as Judges while nine are practicing lawyers.
Candidates have been asked to arrive at the venue 30 minutes before the interview.
“They should carry their original certificates, testimonials and clearances and should ensure they are returned to them before leaving the interview venue,” said JSC.
The commission announced vacancies in the 11 positions and invited qualified candidates to apply on February 9, 2024.
The recruitment of the Judges is aimed at enhancing access to justice. Two weeks ago, President William Ruto presided over the swearing-in of an additional 20 High Court judges as recommended by JSC.
