President Ruto extends Chesang’s term at NCPD as CSs make changes to boards

National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) chairperson Elizabeth Chesang 

President William Ruto has extended the term of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) chairperson Elizabeth Chesang in office.

Chesang whose term lapsed May 2, will now serve for a new three-year term in office.

Her appointment was made on May 7 and contained in a Gazette Notice dated May 9.

Chesang has been holding the position since June 23, 2023, following her appointment to replace Peter Muchiri whose appointment was revoked.

Until her appointment, she was the ex-Kabartonjo ward Councilor.

In some other appointments contained in the notice, Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha picked George Karoki and Linda Murugi Gebson as members of the Digital Health Agency.

The duos are set to serve for three years, with effect from May 9, 2024.

Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu on his part revoked Jane Kiringai’s appointment as the chairperson of Meru University of Science and Technology.

He has appointed James Ireri Kanya to replace her for a three-year term.

In his other appointments, Ibrahim Abdi Mude joins the Council of Kenyatta University, Rashid Kassim the Council of the North Eastern National Polytechnic, and Pampa Juma the Board of Directors of the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation (JKF).

The appointment of Ambaka Kilinga at the JKF has been revoked.

They will all serve for three years.

Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has appointed Adhna Nuri Berhe as a member of the Board of Directors of the National Museums of Kenya (NMK), while her Agriculture counterpart, Mithika Linturi, has appointed Caroline Chepkoech and Nabil Khamis Salim as members of the Board of Directors of the Pyrethrum Processing Company of Kenya (PPCK).

Cooperative CS Simon Chelugui has named Albert Memusi and Yere Nyencho as new board members of Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE), revoking the appointments of Ahmed Jibril and Rakesh Kumar Bvats.

On his part, Public Service (Moses Kuria) has appointed Caroline Wanjiru Kinyanjui as a member of the National Youth Service Council (NYSC).
