President William Ruto toured Mathare depot on Monday, May 6, to assess the extent of flooding in the area. President Ruto makes a surprise visit to a family living in Kanjo houses in Mathare.  During his visit, Ruto unexpectedly stormed into the home of a family residing in the city council houses, commonly referred to as Kanjo houses. In the footage shared online, Ruto entered the house with a smile and joy, engaging the man of the house in casual conversations. Displaying curiosity, the president inquired about the layout of the dwelling, asking the head of the household about the location of other rooms within the residence. “Have a seat are you the owner of the house? Is this your home? This is where the Kitchen is? And this is where the bedroom is? So I have come for your house today,” he said with hearty laughter. He informed the man of his intention to construct 20,000 houses as part of the affordable housing program in the area where the man resided. ” I want to give you a nice house so you can care for your children properly. The Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development placed advertisements in the government publication My Gov and on the Boma Yangu website, urging interested Kenyans to consider buying a collection of houses constructed in Bondeni, Nakuru County. Per the advertisement, the residences in Nakuru consist of two-bedroom and three-bedroom units measuring 64 square meters and 85 square meters, respectively. As per the details observed by TUKO.co.ke, the two-bedroom houses are priced at KSh 3.15 million, while the three-bedroom units are offered at KSh 4.25 million.
