The National Transport and Safety Authority has announced the auction of Ford Ranger and VW Passat vehicles.

NTSA said the auction would take place on May 23-29.

“The auction will feature a wide range of vehicles including Ford Ranger and VW Passat,” NTSA said.

In a public notice in the dailies, NTSA said it would conduct the auction at its Nairobi, Mombasa, Meru, Nyahururu and Nakuru offices.

It will also auction other assorted scrap metals

According to the authority, the auction aims to clear out vehicle blockage and provide an opportunity to purchase cars at competitive prices.

NTSA said the auction is expected to attract car dealers, private buyers and enthusiasts countrywide.

“The successful bidders must pay a deposit of 10 per cent of the purchase price by the close of business of the auction date and the balance within14 calendar days failure to which the deposit and their bid number deposit will be forfeited and the items disposed of at the sole discretion of NTSA,” read the public notice.

“All payments for auction monies are to be remitted through E-Citizen or as may be directed by NTSA Accountant who will be present in all auction venues.”

NTSA said the purchased items must be collected upon full payment and within 14 days from the date of auction failure to which sold items or vehicles will attract a daily storage fee of Sh1,000 per day.

The authority noted that unsuccessful bidders will be refunded their bid number deposit by the auctioneer within seven days after the auction.

“The auction shall adhere to the PPADA 2015, especially with respect to preferences and reservations. Auctioneer reserves the right to reject or accept any bid in whole or part and is not bound to give reasons for doing so,” NTSA noted.

“The auctioneer shall regulate the bidding process. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Auctioneer on the provided contacts or Director General.”
