Reason Khalif Kairo has trending at number one on X

Car enthusiast and entrepreneur Khalif Kairo has been trending the past week over his relationship with his girlfriend, Cera Imani.

While trending at number one on X,  the rich businessman is offering a unique opportunity to one Kenyan to win a car if that person's poem serenading his bae is picked from all others in the competition he started.

The car in question? A vintage 2002 Volkswagen Golf. This came after he faced significant backlash following photos of a date he went with Cera.

In his original tweet, he declared: "I feel like giving out this car. The person who quotes this tweet, writes the most beautiful poem, praising my girlfriend and gets the most likes from the TL will win this car. 2002 Volkswagen with the stock interior. Competition starts now and ends in 24 hours."

Reiterating his commitment, Kairo affirmed, "I am dead serious; the person who quotes this tweet with the most beautiful poem praising my girlfriend and gets the most likes wins this car. You've not started?"

Netizens responded to Kairo's gesture with mixed reactions.

Some are below:

@alexis_cyn remarked, "This is going to be a tough one, let's sit back and watch."

@mut_franc cynically commented, "He doesn't even say 'car,' the girlfriend is yours."

@kikuvii advised, "Just love your girlfriend, leave these Twitter antics."

@GwijiwaKijiji expressed reluctance, "I'd rather die walking from Nairobi to Diani than write a poem praising another man's woman."

@Roykimathi showed support, saying, "I want that stuff you are taking. Love is bliss, and I support your union."
