'Hakuna mbegu ilipotea,' Kanyari responds to Nyashinski
During a recent live stream, Pastor Victor Kanyari has retorted to a nearly decade-old song of legendary veteran musician Nyashinski.
After a long hiatus from the music scene, Nyashinski made a comeback in 2016 with the hit track 'Now You Know.'
In the first verse of the song, Nyashinski mentions people wondering where he went, suggesting he disappeared like the Kshs310 seeds (Seed 310) that Victor Kanyari received from his followers.
"I hear them asking where our boy went, He's disappeared like those seeds people planted with Kanyari yee yee yeaah, And it's being said, That my raps come with force, And the sweetness of reggae mama," the artist sings.
However, Kanyari took the song seriously, stating that no 'seeds' were lost.
The preacher, who claims to be an anointed Prophet of God, revealed that Nyashinski and his now-defunct group, Kleptomaniacs, were young when Kanyari was preaching before the 310 scandal.
He also disclosed his favourite song from the group, adding that he also wanted to be a musician.
"There's a singer named Nyashinski who said that people say I disappeared like those seeds disappeared with Kanyari.
No seeds were lost with Kanyari. When I was preaching, Nyashinski was singing with the group. They were young. I was still there. I was preaching while Nyashinski was preaching at the airport, they were singing with guys like Collo.
There's a song they used to sing 'Let's continue or not'. I liked that song too. At that time, I wanted to be a musician, unfortunately, I wasn't a singer, I became a Prophet, Doctor Victor Kanyari," he said.
Encouraging people to bring their sick, Kanyari said his job now is to pray for people, adding that Nyashinski can also reach out to him for prayers.
