Kenya has officially started a three-day mourning period for the 10 Kenya Defence Forces soldiers, including General Francis Ogolla. Captain Hillary Litali enjoying music with other KDF soldiers. The incident occurred on Thursday at 2pm in the Kaben area of Elgeyo-Marakwet when the helicopter, which had just taken off, crashed and caught fire. William Ruto confirms Ogolla, 9 soldiers dead President William Ruto, in his moving tribute, said that the ill-fated KDF chopper had 12 ranking soldiers including their camera operator. Unfortunately, 10 died on the spot while only two survived the crash and were airlifted by another chopper to the hospital. The gallant soldiers were on a mission to North Rift to visit the deployed Security officers and inspect the renovation of schools ahead of reopening by the end of April 2024. The group, having a good time with the song, danced around Captain Litali and maintained cheerful expressions throughout. Mogire survived the incident and was transported to the hospital by another KDF aircraft. The photo doing rounds discloses Mugire sitting on the hospital bed in crutches.
