President Ruto Calls Emergency Security Meeting After CDF Ogolla Involved In Chopper Crash

President William Ruto has summoned the National Security Council (NSC) for an urgent meeting at State House in Nairobi after a Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) chopper crashed on Thursday afternoon.

The KDF chopper, which was carrying Chief of Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla, went down at at the Kaben-Cheptulel border between Elgeyo Marakwet and West Pokot counties.

General Ogolla is also a member of National Security Council, which is further composed of President Ruto, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Defence Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale as well as his Interior counterpart Prof. Kithure Kindiki.

Others are Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, Attorney General Justin Muturi, National Intelligence Service (NIS) Director General Noordin Haji, Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, and National Security Advisor Monica Juma.
