Joseph Maduli was among the students aboard the Easy Coach bus en route from Chavakali High School to Nairobi. However, fate took a cruel turn when the bus was involved in a devastating accident at the Mombo Leo flyover along the Kakamega-Kisumu highway. The accident claimed the life of Joseph Maduli, leaving his family and the nation in a state of shock and grief. Goicha, his mother, was unaware of the tragic news until the morning after the accident, as her son failed to return home while his peers did. Joseph’s death came just days after his mother shared concerns about the rising cases where so many parents were burying their young sons. “Do we talk to the boy child enough? It’s very sad that we are burying them so young,” she wrote.
